The Complete Musician

Join us on Saturdays from 10:00 am onwards for a comprehensive music curriculum. If you already have a tutor outside IMS, you can choose to attend our group classes only.

Programme Levels:

Beginner (Grade 1 – Grade 3):
- Individual instrumental lesson (30 mins) – £21
- Group theory & musicianship (60 mins) – £15
Intermediate (Grade 4-5):
- Individual instrumental lesson (45 mins) – £31
- Group theory & musicianship (60 mins) – £15
- Ensemble coaching (30 mins) – £12
Advanced (Grade 6-8 and diploma):
- Individual instrumental lesson (60 mins) – £40
- Group theory & musicianship (60 mins) – £15
- Ensemble coaching (30 mins) – £12

*Fees are payable each half term in advance. If the student plays more than one instrument, lessons in each additional instrument are charged at the instrumental lesson rate listed above.

What to Expect:

Performance opportunities every term.
Full exam support.
Optional participation in external performances, music festivals and competitions.

How We Teach:

Individual Lesson: Personalised one-on-one instruction with experienced teachers. Prepare for performances and graded exams.
Theory & Musicianship: Develop music theory and aural skills alongside performance. Aim for ABRSM Grade 8 Theory and creative skills like improvisation.
Ensemble Coaching: Learn the art of ensemble playing, fostering musicianship and teamwork.

I am so pleased with the progress that my two children are making with Immanuel at IMS Cardiff.Immanuel’s lessons are very engaging and fun which encourages my boys to want to practise and constantly improve. They have only been playing piano for a few months and they are already performing pieces and scales with both hands. Their musical theory knowledge is also developing well.After each lesson, notes are emailed to help us parents support and understand what needs to be practised ready for the next lesson.I am looking to forward to watching my boys perform in their first concert with IMS Cardiff, together with the other students.IMS Cardiff is located in Cardiff City centre which is really easy to access and has free parking.Thank you to Immanuel, Daphne and the team at IMS Cardiff.

Immanuel has been my tutor for over six years. I've seen his business develop a lot over that time and I've recommended friends and their children to his business. He's a very patient and enthusiastic teacher and our lessons have kept me motivated to keep playing for a long time. He's great at remembering the music and styles you enjoy, to make recommendations on pieces and at providing feedback to help you develop further. With Immanuel I've developed from playing very simple pieces to being encouraged to now play long complex classical pieces and there's still a lot to learn from him.

I would recommend IMS to your children because we have been to various music teachers within the city, and eventually , fortunately ended up with this team of music teachers. They are very friendly with the children, and encourage and enthuse them to take interest in their music, and are very appreciative of the children's progress. The end of term concerts help the students the showcase their talents to the family. Overall, top class!!!

I would highly recommend IMS. We were paying for my son to have paired piano lessons in primary school and he made hardly any progress. After 2 terms learning with Immanuel at IMS his piano playing has come on exponentially. He is confident and enjoys the piano lessons and practice and pleasure he gives by entertaining others. The tutors have high expectations and standards but are encouraging and supportive too.

All three of my children receive tuition from IMS and I cannot recommend it enough. All have improved enormously since starting with them 18 months ago. Not only are the teachers talented musicians but they are very supportive and flexible. The performance opportunities they provide for their students are invaluable in increasing confidence. Highly recommed this music school, they are excellent. My daughter loves her guitar lessons and they have be fantastic during lockdown. No hesitation in recommending them.
